Multilingual Helplines are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 10pm.

Languages served include:

Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

Spectra Helpline offers its programs and services, (i.e., crisis and suicide assessment and intervention, emotional support, and outbound check-in calls) in 8 languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, HindiPunjabi and Urdu.

Spectra’s comprehensively trained volunteer responders are committed to providing phone support for:

• Coping - juggling work & family life, interpersonal relationships, personal time/interests

• Anxiety/Stress - impact of physical, mental, emotional and financial stress

• Settlement & Integration - Language, culture and traditions

• Relocation - New city, new country, new people, new community

• Depression/continued sadness

• Divorce – separation/dealing with conflicts 

• Abuse – seniors/ men/ women – physical, mental, emotional 

• Job loss – frustration/stress associated with unemployment or under-employment

• Isolation & Loneliness 

• Loss & Grief

• Parenting

• Relationship Issues

• Acceptance and Support – “Coming out” issues (LGBTQ)
